Nuevo Vallarta – The Mayan Palace

Pool-side margaritas can wreak havoc with one’s judgment – I found this Life Rule out when I forgot to put sunblock on at Latitude 20 N. Later, I discovered how out of it I really was when i noticed the purl stitches where there should have been knit stitches! So, you can probably tell we were by a pool, drinking and eating and I was knitting and sleeping in the sun! (It could have been worse; my dermatologist is STILL GOING TO KICK MY BUTT.)

We used our timeshare exchange for a week at the Mayan Palace in Nuevo Vallarta (ocean front resorts north of Puerto Vallarta-2.5 hours flying south from LAX). Click here for a link to my Flickr Pix.

Highlights: SERENE. Iguanas. Narrow gauge train. Ocean. Girls on jet skis. BEST LUNCH EVER IN MY LIFE. Bargaining in the flea market. Palm trees. The staff cleaned ALL. OF. THE. TIME. Friendly people. Strawberry marshmallows at the beach bonfire. 54 points in Slug Bug. Kayaking. Audrey drinking 2fer1 virgin strawberry margaritas and Kathryn drinking 2fer1 virgin Pina Coladas. Not worrying about the girls being safe. Having our own room. Starting my cardigan and running out of yarn (HOW could I have thought 2 skeins would be enough to take along – should have tripled that).

We had a great time.
